Truck dimensions are the legally determined maximum width, height and length dimensions of trucks. These dimensions are determined so that transportation trucks can travel on the roads safely. Truck dimensions may vary from country to country.
Truck dimensions in Turkey are as follows:
The width of the truck must be 2.60 meters, excluding the platform and trailer on which it carries the load.
The height of the truck must be 4.20 meters, excluding the platform and trailer on which it carries the load.
The length of the truck, including tractor and trailer, must be 18.75 meters.
Another important point to know about truck dimensions is the weight limits. The maximum weight that trucks can carry may vary depending on the country.
The maximum weight that trucks can carry in Turkey is as follows:
The maximum weight of 6-axle trucks is 44 tons,
Maximum weight of 5-axle trucks is 40 tons,
Maximum weight of 4-axle trucks is 32 tons,
The maximum weight of 3-axle trucks must be 24 tons.
The maximum weight that trucks with more axles can carry is 8 tons more per axle.
Truck dimensions decide the dimensions and weight of the truck. The dimensions of trucks are determined in terms of load carrying capacity, usable space and safety. The weight of the trucks is determined within the framework of legal limits and if exceeded, serious sanctions are applied. Standards regarding truck dimensions in Turkey are specified in the Road Transport Regulation. In this regulation, the dimensions, heights, widths and weights of trucks are specified.
The truck dimensions specified in the regulation are:
Height: Maximum 16.50 meters
Width: Maximum 2.60 meters
Height: Maximum 4 meters
Weight: Maximum 40 tons

Some of these are those:
Flat Trailer: It is a type of trailer that does not have horizontally opening covers and is generally used to transport long loads. Flat trailers, which can reach a height of up to 3.00 meters, are produced with double or single axles.
Closed Trailer: These are trailers with closed sides and a height of up to 2.60 meters. Closed trailers can be produced with double or single axles and are suitable for transporting all kinds of materials.
Refrigerated Trailer: It is a type of trailer used to transport products that require a cold chain. These trailers have a height of up to 2.60 meters and are equipped with a cold air blowing system.
Tanker: A transportation vehicle used to transport liquids and gases. Oil and chemical derived products are generally transported in tankers.
